A Powerful Java Science Calculator, Unit/Currency/Color Converter. It supports formatting result numbers to fitting your locale, 5 locales are supported: English, Germany, France, Italy, US. It supports 36 functions, 198 units/35 currencies, Skins.
Pros: This application simulates a powerful scientific calculator with powerful number formatting. Format conversion between decimal, octal, hexadecimal or even binary is easy. Several locales, such as US, UK, France Germany and Italy are available to format numbers to your convenience. Fraction digits can be set for 5 to 16 digits. Scientific exponential notation is available too as is convenient comma separators for the numbers. Users can define a range of functions and constants. If you input a certain kind of expression very often, you can define it as a function, and call it later when you want it. The frequently used functionalities are integrated into toolbar buttons, such as: undo/redo, and Unit/Currency Converter, etc. Most of the actions are have shortcuts, such as, Ctrl+Z to undo, Ctrl+S to save history, Ctrl+Up to recall previous expression in history, etc. The application can be hidden in the system tray to let you work with other applications simultaneously.
The application, being Java based, runs on several platforms quite seamlessly. These include Windows 2K/XP/Vista, Mac OS X, Linux, Solaris. Based on Java Web Start technology, the installation is absolutely easy. The GUI (Graphical User Interface) is good, and it`s skin changeable. It looks exactly like a calculator. There are 7 themes available and more are on the way.
Cons: Though version one, none of the caution seems necessary.
Overall: This is really good, easy, very familiar interface. This is a 5 star deal without a doubt.
